She who pwns people with history

George IV died at about half-past three in the morning on June 26th, 1830, at Windsor Castle. He is supposed to have called out “Good God, what is this?” clasped his page’s hand and said “my boy, this is death.”

His only legitimate child, Princess Charlotte, had died in childbirth in 1817. Therefore, he was succeeded to the throne by his younger brother, the Duke of Clarence, who would reign as William IV.
