Two thousand and fourty two years ago today, Mark Antony stabbed himself with his sword after receiving the false information that his wife Cleopatra was dead. He was then taken to her mausoleum, where she had locked herself in with her two handmaidens, and hauled up to her through a window. Moments later he died in her arms.
